Skip Float Finish

These types of finishes are the more basic type of finish and are achieved by pushing a long narrow float blade on the end of a knuckle handle and pole over the surface of the wet concrete. Skip float is often refereed across the industry as bull floats or easy floats.

A skip float finish is typically required after laying, in jobs where there aren’t any rigid conditions for the floor level.

For many of our projects, our skilled operatives choose to use a skip float finishing tool right before applying the final power float finish.

The process of smoothing while leaving an acceptable degree of flatness means that elements like speed and pressure are essential in providing a smooth and even surface.

Our skip float finishing specialists will begin the drying process at just the right time to spread the concrete evenly. Using their specialised skip float tool, they will pull along set lines to properly spread and compact the concrete. They will repeat the above steps until the desired finish is acquired.
